From Our Meadows and Woods to Your Barns and Homes

When not selling and delivering sugaring equipment or producing syrup, harvesting hay and cutting firewood are the two main activities that take place at Shady Maples Farm.  Vermont's rainy climate makes haying an unpredictable process, but despite the obstacles, nearly 40,000 bales of hay are harvested, sold, and delivered every year.  On the other hand, no amount of inclement weather provides an excuse to not cut wood!  That helps explain how nearly 100 cords of firewood are cut, split, sold, and delivered each year.
